bildhauerhaus - krastal
At the core, it is the ongoing attempt to find and define the figure itself during the working process. My sculptural practice is process-oriented. Thus, I generally avoid models that anticipate the final outcome, as well as "intellectual concepts." My process is accompanied by sketches. Through free play at the beginning and vague ideas, forms gradually condense until, at some point, a single remaining possibility becomes clear.
When working on a stone sculpture, space gradually "seeps" into the stone, enveloping the emerging figure. In the case of developing wood and paper works, the existing space is gradually encompassed by them. Both approaches are equally interesting and fascinating to me.
During the solo exhibition in 2025, I plan to begin work on a mid-sized stone sculpture in addition to presenting an exhibition at the sculptor's house.
